Minutes of Meeting Jefferson City Council Committee on Administration Wednesday, May 5, 2021 Virtual Meeting Due to Covid-19/Social Distancing ATTENDEES: Committee members present: Erin Wiseman, Laura Ward, Hank Vogt, Ron Fitzwater, John Hensley Staff present: Carrie Tergin, Gail Strope, Sonny Sanders, Steve Crowell, Matt Schofield, Ryan Moehlman, Rachel Senzee, Dave Williams, Roger Schroeder, Michael Lester Others Present: Bill Burton, Michael Shine (News Tribune) Spam Names Present: Benard, Phillip Denve, Savarino Varg, Erick Silv, Cin Cam Meeting came to order at 7:30 a.m. by Councilwoman Erin Wiseman. The October 7, 2020 and April 19, 2021 minutes were approved with a motion by Councilmember Laura Ward, and seconded by Councilmember Ron Fitzwater. The motion passed 5-0. Historic Preservation Commission and Facade Improvement Committee: Presented by Sonny Sanders and Rachel Senzee. They explained the idea of merging the Façade Improvement Committee into the Historic Preservation Committee. The committee members were in favor of the merge, as long as the Historic Preservation Committee is in agreement. Police Personnel Board Hiring Procedure Change: Lt. Dave Williams spoke on behalf of the Police Department until Roger Schroeder joined. The Police Department would like the option to close the promotional recruitment process to the public and keep it internal at the will of the Police Personnel Board. After a lengthy discussion, the requested died due to a lack of motion. Appointments: Presented by Gail Strope. The committee made five new appointments. A motion to approve was made by Councilmember Ron Fitzwater and seconded by Laura Ward. The motion passed 5-0. She likes the idea of allowing the public to join in on discussions. Councilmember Erin Wiseman will get with Ryan Moehlman and have something to bring to the next Council meeting. The next scheduled meeting will be held at 7:30 a.m. on June 2, 2021. There being no further business, Councilmember Erin Wiseman ended the meeting at 8:29 a.m.
