APPROVING PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT -
SLAVIN & MORSE, ESQS.
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of professional legal services with regard
to the acquisition of certain parcels of real property required for the continued
development and public use of the Borough's Waterfront Park, Fishing Pier and Boat
Ramp, namely parts of Block 4; Lots land 4; and
WHEREAS, The Law Firm of Slavin and Morse, Esqs., 234 Main Street, Woodbridge,
NJ 07095, possess the requisite experience and expertise to provide said specialized legal
services; and
WHEREAS, The Law Firm of Slavin and Morse, Esqs., has proposed to perform said
services at an initial cost not to exceed $5,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be available
for said purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
of Carteret that The Law Firm of Slavin and Morse, Esqs., is hereby appointed as special
legal counsel in regard to acquiring the above referenced parcels for an initial maximum
cost not to exceed $5,000.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this appointment is made as a professional service
as defined byN.J.S.A. 40A:ll-2(6).
