Southbound Traffic on South King Street Shifting Lanes on
November 3, 2016
Drivers cautioned about new traffic pattern between Greenway Drive and
Masons Lane.
Leesburg, VA – Construction of the South King Street widening project is moving forward.
When completed, South King Street will have two travel lanes in each direction, separated by a
landscaped median, from the Route 7/15 Bypass to the southern Town limits at Virt’s Cor ner.
The final phase of the project is expected to be completed by the end of the year, six months
ahead of schedule.
Weather permitting, on Thursday, November 3, 2016, southbound traffic on South King Street
between Greenway Drive and Masons Lane will be shifted to the outside southbound lane of
the roadway. Northbound and southbound traffic will be restricted to one lane in each
direction, while the contractor completes the final phase of the project.
