HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 01:230 No. 01-230 Date tit Ad,)ption duly 19, _2001 APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 - DOROTHY STREET PUMP STATION IMPROVEMENTS WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the Borough of Carteret awarded a contract to Maple Construction Co. in the amount of $367,000.00 for improvements to the Dorothy Street Pump Station; and WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer for the project, T & M Associates, has advised the Governing Body that a modification of the contract is reasonable and necessary and has recommended that the aforesaid contract be modified in accordance with Contract Change Order #2 (see attached letter); and WHEREAS, Change Order #2 includes increases in the cost of the contract due to the recommended purchase of a new generator versus upgrading the existing generator and for the cleaning, repairing, and sealing of the Flow Meter Manhole; as well as a reduction in the contract price due to the deletion of pump spare parts and the deletion of landscaping ~vork which was not required, with the net impact of said supplemental ~vork resulting in a reduction of $14.90 in the original contract price; and WHEREAS, Change Order #2 also includes a 70-day extension of time to allow for the ordering, delivery and installation of the ne~v generator; and WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer, T & M Associates has certified that said changes and/or modifications were unforeseen at the time of the award of the contract. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Borough Council of the Borough of Carteret as follows: 1. Contract Change Order #2 is hereby approved. 2. The appropriate Borough Officials are hereby authorized to execute Change Order #2. Adopted this 19th day on July and certified as a true copy of the original on July 20, 2001. KATHLEEN M.
