Leesburg, VA (November 16, 2016) – There will be no trash, recycling or yard waste collection in the Town of Leesburg on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 24, 2016. Residential customers in the Southeast and Southwest quadrants of Town (including South King and West Market Street), who normally have trash, recycling and yard waste collected on Thursdays, will have those items collected on Saturday, November 26, 2016. Bulk items will also be collected on Saturday, November 26. Requests for bulk item collections must be submitted by 12 noon on Wednesday, November 23. For residential customers in the Northeast and Northwest quadrants of Town (including North King Street), there are no changes to trash, recycling, yard waste or bulk item collection. All of these items will be collected on Friday, November 25, as usual. Requests for bulk item collections must be submitted by 12 noon on Wednesday, November 23. For curbside commercial customers, there will be no trash or recycling collection on Thursday, November 24, 2016. Trash and recycling will be collected for curbside commercial customers on Friday, November 25, 2016. Saturday collections will take place as normal. The Department of Public Works & Capital Projects offers automatic email notifications of changes to trash and recycling collection schedules. Residents can sign up to receive these notifications at www.leesburgva.gov/trash. The Leesburg Town Offices will be closed on Thursday, November 24, and Friday, November 25, 2016, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. # # #
