Upon a 7mt-ion by Mr. Armour and second by Mr. Hunter, all three sets of minutes mere unanimously approved as submitted- 3. Staff Report - a. Financial jjeports• Mr. Gwynn presented the January report and reviaged various items indi- cated therein. He also indicated that seventy -seven (77 %) percent of taxes have been collected through January 31st. Chief Greer presented the Jannnary police report indicating that there had been no burglaries and a very low overall cruse rate. Mr. Dixsm read ornmendations for Sgt. Herb Hatton and Lt. Charles Banner, retired, and recommended approval by the o mni ssum and presentation to the officers. C. Caputo stated that the roadway resurfacing and drainage project has been completed and these would be no further reports on the project. With regard to the canal dredging, he stated that we had been in contact With several marine contractors for estimates of the rock removal in several of the canals. He also stated that staff would be meeting with Struck Engineers and Murphy Construction to expedite the completion of the project. on the municipal complex project, Mr. Caputo indicated that he would be working with the architects to finalize the information from yesterday's special meeting. 4. Presentation by Planning and Zoning Hoard. P.B. $85 -1. A request by Del Swill.ey, Inc., agent for Sara C. Mr. Flilliatmm Mayer and fuss Jae DeGaruge nmperned the fit_ Following a brief discussion and upon a motion by Mr. Armour and second by Mr. Dixson, the Cmudssion unanimously approved the request. 0aw.mssioner's Commennts/Recommendatlons. Mr. Dixson asked about the ability to control boat traffic in the intra- o.'ustal waterway. fir. Randolph indicate; that it was a Coast Guard and harbor Patrol responsibility with no involvement by local governments. for. Armour inquired about the status of various ordinance revisions. Mr. Caputo stated that they are being prepared for submittal to Mr. Randolph for review. f7ayor Koch discussed the possible sale of the Town-awned property known as the wildlife sanctuary. Follomaing considerable discussion by the Commission aryl the public, Mr. Randolph stated that further legal investigation would be necessary and that the lbwn reads to set policy and decide m•hether or not it desires to sell the property.
