Leesburg Christmas Tree and Menorah Lighting Ceremony
Kicks Off First Friday Celebration on December 2, 2016
Leesburg, VA (November 18, 2016) – The Town of Leesburg
invites locals and visitors to enjoy the magic of the holidays in
historic downtown Leesburg. On Friday, December 2, 2016, at
6:00 pm, join friends and neighbors to celebrate the start of the
holiday season in Leesburg at the annual Christmas Tree and
Menorah Lighting on the Town Green’s new stage (25 West
Market Street).
After a holiday message from Leesburg Mayor David Butler, the
Menorah will be lit and the crowd will be invited to join in a
holiday sing-a-long with Leesburg’s Town Council. The Mayor
will “throw the switch” to light the Christmas tree. The festive
ceremony will continue under the picturesque lights of the tree
with singing, dance, and instrumental performances from local
schools, and music venues.
Plan to stay in downtown Leesburg after the
ceremony as the downtown merchants will
host Leesburg’s First Friday. Over 45
downtown shops, restaurants and businesses
will be open late, with live music, special sales
and holiday cheer. For a full listing of First
Friday activities and specials, please visit
www.leesburgfirstfriday.com.
