• We are working in coalition with public and private partners, advocating for
MassDOT to include pedestrian underpasses as it renovates the Anderson,
Western Avenue and River Street bridges.
• MassDOT only including at-grade pedestrian surface improvements
• Pathways are important connector between Watertown, Cambridge, and
Boston

C,
The time to build Underpasses is now
• Connects Watertown to Boston with 8 miles of safe, mixed
use, uninterrupted pathway
• Strong public support from diverse groups
• Supports MassDOT's own mandate to triple the non-
automotive mode-share of travel 2020
• 33% less expensive to build now, as part of renovation project
compared to after renovations complete ($ 4 mil versus $6
mil)
• Bridges will not be renovated again for at least another 5
years
Can we count on your support ?
• We hope the Watertown Town Council will
join the growing list of Public Officials and
organizations in support of Underpasses on
Charles River bridges.
