The Honorable Watertown Town Council
Town Council Meeting
12/7/2010
Re: Item 5b on the 12/7/2010 meeting Agenda — Proposed Order
allocating the property tax levy
Dear Town Council Members,
After our review of the Tax Classification Hearing document for the Fiscal
Year 2011, the Watertown Belmont Chamber of Commerce, under our
PAST PRESIDENT mission statement attached, recommends that the honorable Town Council
votes in line with the Chairman of the Assessors to maintain a 1.75% tax
shift in Fiscal Year 2011. As noted in the Tax Classification Hearing
document Community Comparison on Page 7, Watertown's tax shift,
along with Boston, Newton and Waltham is the highest amongst its peers.
We feel maintaining the current level is advantageous for our membership.
Sincerely,
o2ye
Brenda A. Fanara
