Street Closure to Occur During 31st Annual Martin Luther King,
Jr. March
Leesburg, VA (January 12, 2022) – The annual
Martin Luther King, Jr. March and Celebration will
be held on Monday, January 17, 2022.
The event will begin at the Loudoun County
Courthouse at 10 a.m. Marchers will proceed from
the courthouse lawn to East Market Street as they
make their way to Frederick Douglass Elementary
School (510 Principal Drummond Way SE).
Sections of East Market Street, from Catoctin Circle to North King Street, will be closed
beginning at 9:30 a.m. in preparation for the march. Rolling street closures will take place as the
event proceeds along East Market Street. Drivers should follow police direction and be
prepared for minor delays.
Individuals, families, schools, businesses, civic groups, and religious organizations are all
welcome to participate. The organizer is asking that participants wear a mask and social
