Mixed Media Exhibit on Display at Thomas Balch Library
Leesburg, VA (April 5, 2022) – A new mixed media art exhibit
from local artist Ligia Inra, “A Botanical Garden,” is available
for viewing at Thomas Balch Library.
Inra said her inspiration comes from real world experiences
and personal stories. Since childhood, her sense of color has
come naturally and has become a personal expression. The
palette of nature’s colors in flora has been her inspiration.
Mixed media art challenges her to go beyond the ordinary.
Her paintings possess a deep understanding of structure and
space, seamlessly blending those elements into a visual
harmony. Ligia’s canvases engage the viewer as an active
participant on her colorful journey.
Inra was born in Acapulco, Mexico where she grew up surrounded by music, literature, and art.
She lived in New York City for over 30 years, which afforded her an even deeper appreciation of
art. She has lived in Loudoun County for the past 20 years.
Inra’s work has been exhibited in local juried shows including Art at The Mill, Artist in
Middleburg, the Tryst Gallery, Waterford Art & Craft Fair, and local libraries. It has also been a
part of private collections throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
This exhibit will be available to view from April to June in the meeting room on the lower level
of the library. Please call 703-737-7195 or email balchlib@leesburgva.gov for more information.
Ligia Inra will donate 50% of every purchase from this exhibit to LAWS Domestic Violence and
Sexual Assault Services.
