Home My Public Portal Aboutr 05:186 ~H úlu±tún úf tlv~~úrúu£fr úf C!lGtr±£r£;1 ~ ~ W ~ No. 05-186 Date of Adoption June 2 , 2005 --~~ " RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES WITH T&M ASSOCIATES - CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION AND FIELD INSPECTION ANNUAL EMERGENCY SEWER SERVICES CONTRACT WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of professional engineering services relating to contract administration and field inspection as part of its Annual Emergency Sewer Services Contract.; and WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineers, T &M Associates, possess the requisite skill and expertise for said services; and WHEREAS, T &M Associates has submitted a proposal to provide said engineering services at a total cost not to exceed $15,000.00; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have reviewed said proposal; WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be available for said purpose. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough ofCarteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows: I. That the proposal from T &M Associates for professional engineering services for contract administration and field inspection related to the Annual Emergency Sewer Services contract at a total cost not to exceed $15,000.00 at the rate set forth in T&M's existing contract with the Borough is hereby approved. Z. That annexed hereto is a copy of said proposaL 3. That this action is approved as an award of a professional services contract. 4. That a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Borough's Purchasing Department and T &M Associates. DuPont: We are providing herein a proposal for engineering services to provide contract administration and inspection services for the Borough's 2005 Sewer System Emergency Services Contract. The existing emergency services contract with B& W has expired and the Borough is preparing to bid and award this year's contract. Under the Borough's past emergency services contracts, there have been in the range of 8-12 sewer repairs required during the year and we anticipate there will be a similar number of emergency repairs during the new contract. On each of these projects, we would generally expect to provide 6 to 8 hours of inspection (assuming a 1-2 day repair) and there may be a few hours of office coordination, paperwork, etc. We respectfully request the Borough provide authorization for T&M Associates to provide inspection and contract administration of these various emergency sewer repairs. At this time we are estimating that a fee of $15,000.00 will be required for inspection and contract administration costs associated with emergency repairs. Time expended would be billed in accordance with our standard hourly billing rates. Further, should there be more emergency work than anticipated and the above fee is not sufficient, we will not exceed this amount without Borough authorization.
