A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TEMPLE CITY AUTHORIZING THE SETTING
OF A HEARING TO DETERMINE THE PUBLIC INTER-
EST AND NECESSITY FOR ACQUIRING AND AUTHOR-
IZING THE CONDEMNATION OF CERTAIN REAL
PROPERTY AND ANY LEASEHOLD INTEREST
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Temple City has
determined that there is a public need for additional
off - street parking facilities on Oak Avenue in and around the
Post Office facility; that Oak Avenue is narrow, overloaded
with on- street parking; in hazardous condition as to driver's
searching for parking spaces; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to ameliorate the problem by
acquiring the real property shown on the Site Plan marked
"Exhibit A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by this
reference and described by name and address on Exhibit "B"
attached hereto and made a part hereof; and
WHEREAS, the City has made a conditional written offer to
the owners at least fifteen (15) days prior to the date of this
resolution to those persons whose property is to be acquired,
but none of such offers has been accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TEMPLE CITY AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is authorized to set a
date for a hearing for each of the owners of property listed on
Exhibit "B" for the City Council to consider the public inter-
est and necessity of the acquisition of the real property
listed in Exhibit "B" for off - street parking facilities.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to make such
offers unconditional and to notify the owners of such hearings
not less than fifteen days prior to the hearing.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 31st day of July, 1990.
