The minutes of the Commission Meeting held on May 11,1957
were read, approved and adopted.
J. R. Fountain reported bank balances as follows:
General Fund
Water Fund
Reserve Fund

Payments from the General Fund during May were on checks
numbered 95 through 123, and totatled $1,966.48. Payments
from the Water Fund were on checks numbered 108 and 109 and
totaled $494.11. No checks were drawn on the Reserve Fund.
All of the above payments were unanimously approved.
Mayor Lindsay read a letter from Mr. Keith R. Chinn,
Secretary - Treasurer of The Association of Municipalities of
Palm Beach County in which Mr. Chinn requests that the Town
of Gulf Stream join the organization, the dues to be paid
annually at the rate of $2.00 per million dollars non - exempt
real property on the Town tax rolls. The Commissioners
present voted to join the organization, provided, Mr. Bill
Koch recommends the application; it being understood that
the dues for the Town of Gulf Stream would not exceed $4.o0
for this year.
Mr. Pope made a motion that the Town purchase two signs
reading "No Wake - $50.00 Fine ", and that J. R. Fountain
have them placed one at each approach to Gulf Stream on
the Canal. Mr. Lindsay seconded the motion and it carried
unanimously.
The Commissioners discussed the possibility of the Town
having some of the Australian Pine Trees topped along AIA.
Mr. Lindsay recommended that in the event the Florida Power
and Light Company contract to have some of this work done
this summer, that the Commissioners consider having the
same crew do some of the topping for the Town, provided
this will mean a saving to the mown.

Mr. LaPorte suggested that J. R. Fountain notify the
residents of Gulf Stream of the Garbage Resolution passed
on December 7, 1949, Mr. Pope made a motion that a copy of
this Resolution, which reads as follows:
RESOLVED, that all garbage must be wrapped
in paper and placed in metal containers or
ordinary garbage cans, the size not to exceed
twenty gallons,

be mailed to each resident with the Water bill for either
November of December, 1957. Mr. Iglehart seconded the motion
and it carried unanimously.
There being no futher business the Commissioners
adjourned.
