RE: Agenda Item — Informational Presentation
Attached please find email correspondence from Mario A. Orangio, Fire Chief requesting
an Informational Presentation be placed on the July 13, 2010 Town Council Agenda. The
Informational Presentation will be on the Town's efforts to date in the creation of a Hazard
Mitigation Plan and will be given by James Freas, Regional Planner, Metropolitan Area Planning
Council.
As indicated in Chief Orangio's correspondence, upon completion of the Plan, it will be
presented to Council for consideration of adoption. Adoption of the plan is required in
connection with any application by the Town in seeking Federal Hazard Mitigation Grant Funds.

I respectfully'request that an agenda item under informational presentations be added so that Mr. James
Freas from MAPC, Mr. Magoon, Superintendent Mee and myself can report on the Town's efforts in the
creation of a Hazard Mitigation Plan. Upon completion of the plan, it will be presented to the Council for
consideration of adoption for the Town. Adoption of the plan is required in connection with any application
by the Town in seeking Federal Hazard Mitigation Grant Funds. The presentation should last roughly 15-20
minutes. Thank you for your consideration of this request.
