APPROVING PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT-
GENOVA BURNS & VERNOIA
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of specialized legal services with
regard to various civil service matters; and
WHEREAS, the law firm of Genova Burns & Vernoia possess the requisite
experience and expertise to provide said specialized legal services; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be
available for said purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret that the law firm of Genova Burns & Vernoia is hereby
appointed special labor counsel at an hourly rate set forth pursuant to the firm's
existing contract with the Borough for a maximum cost not to exceed $15,000.00

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this contract is awarded as a professional
service pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:II-2(6) and shall be advertised as may be required
bylaw.
I. That the proposal from Genova Bums & Vernoia for
specialized legal services in regards to various civil service
matters at a total cost not to exceed $15,000.00 at the rate set
forth in Genova Burns & Vernoia's existing contract with the
Borough is hereby approved.
2. That annexed hereto is a copy of said proposal.
3. That this action is approved as an award of a professional
services contract.
4. That a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Borough's
Purchasing Department and Genova Burns & Vernoia.

and certified as a true copy of the
