HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-17-1960VILLAGE OF MEDINA HAMEL, MINNESOTA The Planning Commission meeting of Oct. 17, 1960 was called to order at 8;15 P.M. Attending were Kenneth Fortin, Herb Gaspar, Gerald Dykhoff, Anne Theis. The minutes of the meeting of Sept. 26, 1960 were read and approved as read. Mr Bruds Relay, Tr. Bill Reiser and Mr. Tom Stevens appeared to discuss the fact that Mr. Reiser wishes to sell his property on 88 in acre lots. Mr. Stevens wishes to buy one di' these sites. The area is to be divided into 4 atre lots and Mr. Reiser does not wish to put any more money into a survey than he has to. They asked if the Planning Commission would condider waiving certain parts of the plating ordinance. Mr. Stevens wishes to build this fall if possiblE There was a general discussion on ways to permit Mr. Stevens to build and still hold to the requirements of the ordinance. Mr. Kelly suggested following the intent of the ordinance without following it to the letter. motion by Gerald Dykhoff to recommend to the council to grant Stevens a building permit if Mr. Reiser will give a guarantee to comply with the ordinance on development. Seconded by Herb Gaspar. Carried. Woody Libor, Allan Barnes and Tom Bosacker appeared to ask if the village would sanction a rack track on Lake Indeliendence on the ice in the winter to be used by a car club for races. They stated that they wanted to hold supervised races, open to the public, with a limit to the number of cars on the track at one time. The question of liability in case of injury was discussed. It was suggested that these young men appear before the council with a written outline of the proposed activities and with the persons who would ack as their adult super- visers. Motioh by Gerald Dykhoff that the recommendation would be to have these persons appear before the council with adult supervisors and a statement of the intent of the group. Seconded by Herb Gaspar/ Carried. Boehland appeared with his proposed plat. Kenneth Fortin recommended that no action by way of preliminary approval be taken until Archie Carter had gone over the proposed plat. Herb Gaspar discussed with the group the necessity of having a permit to build a farm building. Gerald Dykhoff discussed with the group the question of building permits for basement homes. Motion to adjourn by Herb Gaspar, seconded by Gerald Dykhoff. Meeting adjourned at 10;25 P.I. Anne E. Theis rt j/.//t,C Secretary
