RESOLUTION 2012 -30
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE REQUESTING
HIGHWAY SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FUNDS FROM THE
STATE OF CALIFORNIA
WHEREAS, the State of California Department of Transportation grants Highway Safety
Improvement Program (HSIP) funds to various transportation safety related projects; and
WHEREAS, HSIP funds are eligible for work on any publicly -owned roadway or
bicycle /pedestrian pathway or trail that corrects or improves the safety for its users; and
WHEREAS, a 10 percent match of local funds is required for the Town to receive funds
under the program; and
WHEREAS, the Town has identified the Glenshire Drive /Highland Avenue Intersection
Improvements to meet the eligibility requirements of the funding.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TRUCKEE TOWN COUNCIL TO:
1. Authorize Town Manager to submit an application to request $708,000 in HSIP Funds
for the Glenshire Drive /Highland Avenue Intersection Improvement Project.
2. Approve the required $78,000 match for the funding request using Measure A, Measure
V, or AB 1600 Traffic Impact Fee Funds, unless alternative funding sources can be
obtained.
3. Appoint the Town Manager as agent to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all
documents, including, but not limited to: application, agreements, and so on, which may
be necessary for completion of the aforementioned project, except those documents that
are identified to be the responsibility of the Town Engineer in item 4 below.
4. Appoint the Town Engineer to conduct the following: payment requests, changes to the
project description, and required reports, which may be necessary for completion of the
aforementioned project.
The foregoing Resolution was introduced by Vice Mayor Green, seconded by
Council Member Wallace Dee, at a Regular Meeting of the Truckee Town Council, held on 1
the 10th day of July, 2012 and adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Vice Mayor Green, Council Member Wallace Dee, Council Member
Brown, Council Member Anderson, and Mayor deRyk Jones.
NOES: None.
