I live in Glenshire and am totally against this development. The traffic on Glenshire drive is
heavy under normal conditions. If we ever had to evacuate due to fire it would be
impossible with the additional traffic that Canyon Springs would generate. Our safety would
be jeopardized by this development.
Currently our area has water that is high in arsenic. When the water table gets low during
the summer months the arsenic level increases. I know that this area draws its water from
different water tables. However I feel that the overall health of our water would be
adversely affected by Canyon Springs.
We live in Truckee for the rural life, wildlife and its beauty. Over the past 25 years I have
seen bits and pieces of this slip away. Perhaps a newcomer to the area would not have
noticed this.
We do not need more sprawl.
I somehow feel that the Canyon Springs Development is somehow a "done deal" as
construction started on the entrance to Canyon Springs a year or so ago. This pre-
construction doesn't sit well with me. What kind of a message does this send? Does
someone know something that the public doesn't? Money under the table?
