Dear Town of Truckee,
I am writing to you as one who enjoys the recreation, history, and beauty of Donner Lake, and as an adjacent property
owner to the Tahoe Donner beach club site.
This is in regards to the mitigated project proposal submitted by Tahoe Donner Association.
My observations of the existing site as a beach club are that it seems an overused area. The noise is tremendous at times
with crowds, boats, music, events, and vehicles. There is a litter problem along the highway where the overflow cars
park. At the entrance to the beach club on Donner Pass Road, it can be treacherous walking or running, even driving,
when cars are pulling in and out. There is also quite a danger to swimmers, kayakers, and paddle boarders due to power
boats near the boat ramp and around the east end. One can only imagine the impact the noise and other pollution have
on the wildlife, plant life, and water quality of Donner Lake.
I lived in Tahoe City for 30 years (prior to the past 6 in Truckee), where an EIR was commonplace and expected for
projects such as this. Being a steward of beautiful Donner Lake, it is hard to believe that the Town of Truckee would not
expect an EIR on this proposed project, especially in the light of the obvious present impacts on the Donner Lake
environment!
An EIR on the Tahoe Donner project is an appropriate measure. My hope is that the Town will require one of the Tahoe
Donner Association. Please help truly mitigate the impacts of more development at the Tahoe Donner beach club site.

the hospital and I worked a 12 hour Tuesday, until late.
