I have spent many hours watching the flow of foot traffic from the parking area to the beach itself and back. I am extremely concerned about safety -especially children. I find it difficult to turn off my pediatrician understanding of child safety. Kids run to the beach across the grass area. Families walk 2-4 abreast. Moms push strollers etc. The plans call for a 3 foot grass "walkway" bordered by a high "wall" along the new deck and a busy driveway used by the boaters offloading their high profile boats. It is my humble opinion that this configuration is a recipe for a child /motor vehicle collision. Not only will vision be blocked by all, but also this increases the chance of young pedestrians darting into the "roadway". Also, the offloaded kayaks/SUPs onto the grass (no-one wants to place these on the roadway) will add to the the dynamic of forcing pedestrians onto the road. I will not comment on the use issues---but clearly daytime events will merely increase the traffic alongside the 3 foot grass walkway and further increase your liability if this is approved. Thank you for you attention to this matter. Dr Martin Joffe
