I am especially against the cutting of healthy trees in order to expand the upper grassy area thereby reducing the amount of available shade and sound control. * Prohibit disturbance of 30% slopes; * Prohibit logging native trees; * Prohibit events in privately zoned residential and recreation areas; * Require conformance with permit conditions that limit the marina uses to boat launching, swimming and lake recreation. A party center does not belong on Donner Lake. Amplified music, weddings, large dining events will impact surrounding neighbors, the lake, and the community. Tripling the eating area and constricting all boat launching and people to a 17 foot wide access route is unsafe and will compound traffic congestion by backing up traffic on Donner Pass Road. Logging native trees and excavating steep slopes to install excessive lighting threatens the survival of the remaining trees. Excessive polluted run-off from the site to the Lake and adjacent state park needs to be stopped, not increased by new development.
