I'm writing in opposition to the proposed expansion of the TDA marina at Donner Lake. Environmental concerns, of
which there are many, aside this proposed expansion serves to limit the enjoyment of all that Donner Lake has to offer
to the "elite" members belonging to Tahoe Donner.
Donner Lake is one of our great natural resources for recreational activities in the Truckee area. As a year round
resident of Truckee who does not live in Tahoe Donner but does enjoy the lake and all it offers from the state park,
camping, water sports, the docks to West End Beach I oppose one group disrupting the enjoyment of the larger whole,
This proposal would increase noise levels during events that would detract from a peaceful camping or kayaking
experience. The proposed lighting would limit vision of the night sky. It would diminish the number of old pines that add
to the natural beauty all can now enjoy. It would increase congestion for those of us trying to access other parts of the
lake, Fourth of July parking at the current facility is bad enough, and overall disturb the Donner Lake experience.
Tahoe Donner residents currently have many private facilities available to them for their special events, they need to
encroach on the enjoyment of the rest of the residents of Truckee. Please consider the greater good when making your
decision.
