The point of this e-mail to the Town of Truckee Planning Commission is to inform that the Tahoe Donner
Association General Plan Committee is in unanimous support of the current Tahoe Donner Marina Capital
Project,which is to be presented to the Planning Commission on August 20.
The General Plan Committee (GPC) has ten regular members and four alternate members, all homeowners in
the Tahoe Donner Association. Our task is to carry out the continued development and periodic updating of the
20 year Tahoe Donner General Plan, prepared by the GPC and approved by the Tahoe Donner Board of
Directors in 2008. Included in our current responsibilities, as stated in our Charter, is to identify and make
recommendations to the Board in regard to policies and programs that address the development and
maintenance of Tahoe Donner amenities and to develop and recommend prioritized action plans, representing
Tahoe Donner home owner wishes, in consultation with Management, Capital Projects, and Human Resources
Staff. At our regular GPC monthly meeting on July 8, Tony Lashbrook and John McLaughlin met with us for an
hour and gave us some detail on how planning works for Town of Truckee. They also heard from us on the role
of the GPC in developing the Tahoe Donner General Plan and recommending Capital Project priorities to the
Tahoe Donner Board. From this discussion it was clear, that in many respects, the GPC has an equivalent role
for the Tahoe Donner Association as the Town Planning Commission has for the Town of Truckee. Tony also
complemented the good working relationship he has experienced with the Tahoe Donner Management Staff.
I sincerely hope that the Planning Commission takes the GPC support for the Marina Project into consideration
at the August 20 meeting. Thank you.
