A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE APPROVING THE
REQUEST FOR REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FUNDS FOR
THE SR 89 MOUSEHOLE PEDESTRIAN AND BICYCLE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

WHEREAS, on November 20, 2013 the Nevada County Transportation Commission
(NCTC) will consider NCTC staff recommendations for the 2013l14 Fiscal Year RTIP; and
WHEREAS, NCTC's maximum programming target for the 2014 STIP is $916,000;
and
WHEREAS, STIP Policy allows a Regional Transportation Planning Agency for a
county with a population of less than 1 million to request an advance of the county share up to
200 percent of the county share for the four-year period that extends beyond the current STIP
period, thereby allowing NCTC to request up to $1,832,000 in funding; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee proposes to construct SR 89 Mousehole Pedestrian
and Bicycle Undercrossing Improvement Project ("Project"); and
WHEREAS, the Project will separate bicycle and pedestrian traffic from vehicle traffic,
thereby improving safety and transportation mobility/capacity of the interregional SR 89 corridor;
and
1 WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee requires an additional $1,832,000 in funding to fund
the Projed's construction engineering and construction; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee, if funding is allocated, will enter into an agreement
with the State of California to carry out the project.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town of Truckee requests NCTC to
program $1,832,000 in STIP-RIP funds for the construction of the SR 89 Mousehole Pedestrian
and Bicycle Undercrossing Improvement Project.
The foregoing Resolution was introduced by Council Member deRyk Jones,
seconded by Council Member Brown, at a Regular Meeting of the Trucke+� 7own Council,
held on the Sth day of October, 2013 and adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Council Member deRyk Jones, Council Member Brown, Council Member
Barr, Vice Mayor Flora and Mayor Wallace Dee.
NOES: None.
