RESOLUTION 2014-28
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE
RA►TIFYING THE CONFLICT OF INTEREST CODE
WHEREAS, pursuant to the California Government Code (CGC) commencing with
Section 87300, the Town Council is required to adopt and promulgate a Conflict of Interest
Code; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to CGC Section 87302, the Conflict of Interest Code shall provide
for specific enumeration of the positions within the Town, other than those specified in CGC
87200, which involve the making or participation in the making of decisions which may
foreseeably have a material effect on any financial interest 'and for each such enumerated
position, the specific types of investments, business position interests in real property and
sources of income which must be reported by designated positions; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council at this time wishes to rescind the Conflict of Interest Code
adopted by Resolution 2012-18 and to adopt a revised Conflict of Interest Code which will
designate employees required to comply with the Conflict of Interest Code; and to .establish a
clearly defined conflict policy; and
WHEREAS, the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) has adopted a regulation,
Title 2, California Code of Regulations, Section 18730, which contains the terms of a standard
model Conflict of Interest Code, which can be incorporated by reference, and which may be
amended by the FPPC to conform to amendments in the Political Reform Act; and �
WHEREAS, incorporation by reference of the terms of the aforementioned regulation
and amendments thereto in the Town's Conflict of Interest Code will save the Town time and
money by minimizing the actions required of that body to keep its Code in conformity with the
Political Reform Act. , ,

• NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TRUCKEE TOV!!N COUNCIL THAT:
Section 1. Resolution 2012-18, adopted May 17, 2012 is hereby rescinded.
Section 2. The terms of Title 2 California Code of Regulations, Section 18730 and any
and all amendments to it adopted by the Fair Political Practices Commission are hereby
incorporated by reference, as well as the attached Appendices A & B in which �officials and
employees are designated and disclosure categories are set forth, and constitute the Conflict of
Interest Code of the Town of Truckee.
Section 3. Designated employees shall file Statements of Economic Interests with the
Town Clerk, to whom the Town Council hereby designates the authority to carry out the duties
of the Filing Officer.

Section 4. The effective date of this Code shall be the date this Code is originally
approved and adopted by the Town Council.
Section 5. Statement of Economic Interests shall be made on forms prescribed by the
FPPC and supplied by the Town of Truckee.
.The foregoing Resolution was introduced by Council Member Brown, seconded
by Council Member deRyk Jones, at a Regular Meeting of the Truckee Town Council,
held on the 10th day of June 2014 and adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Council Member Brown, Council Member Wallace Dee, Council member
deRyk Jones, Vice Mayor Barr, and Mayor Flora.
NOES: None.
