RESOLUTION OF TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOVIlN OF TRUCKEE APPROVING THE
APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FROM THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION, DIVISION OF BOATING AND WATERWAYS QUAGGA AND ZEBRA MUSSEL
INFESTATION PREVENTION FEE GRANT PROGRAM �
WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and �Recreation, Division of Boating and
Waterways has adopted regulations to prescribe procedures for the collection and use of the
quagga and zebra mussel infestation prevention fees for administering the grants awarded pursuant
to Harbors and Navigation Code; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation, Division of Boating and
Waterways manages the Quagga and Zebra Mussel Prevention Grant Program,which will provide
funding to programs and aide in the infestation prevention of the dreissenid mussel in California
reservoirs; and
WHEREAS, said program established by the State Department of Parks and Recreation,
Division of Boating and Waterways require the applicant to certify by resolution the approval of
application(s) before submission of said application(s) to the State; and
WHEREAS,the applicant will enter into a contract with the State of California to complete the
project(s): and

WHEREAS, the Town will continue to work with regional partners in the prevention of the
introduction of aquatic invasive species(AIS) into water bodies within the Truckee town limits and to
educate the public on the potential impacts of AIS.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
TRUCKEE:
1. Approves the filing of an application forthe State Department Parks and Recreation, Division
of Boating and Waterways Quagga and Zebra Mussels Infestation Prevention Fee Grant
. Program; and ,
2. Delegates the authority to the Town Manager, or his designee, to conduct all
negotiations, execute and submit all documents, including, but not limited to applications,
agreements, amendments of the aforementioned project and so on as may be necessary
for the completion of the project; and
3. Certifies that the applicant has reviewed, understands, and agrees to the provisions
contained in the application requirements shown in the grant application guidelines; and
4. Agrees to comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws, ordinances, rules,
regulations and guidelines.

The foregoing Resolution was introduced by Council Member Brown, and seconded by
Council Member Wallace Dee,at a Regular Meeting of the Truckee Town Council,held on the .
14th day of October, 2014 and adopted by the following vote:

Jones, Vice Mayor�arr, and Mayor Flora.
