SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Over the years, the City has
operated with the positions of City Clerk and Treasurer being either two individuals or just one individual; depending upon need and experience. Cathleen Koch has been both City Clerk
and Acting City Treasurer since October 2000. Under her supervision, the finance department has successfully completed the 00/01 budget, has had a successful 99-00 audit, and the accounting
staff has been brought together as a cohesive team. Ms. Koch Holds a bachelors degree in accounting and is seeking special training in governmental accounting. Ms. Koch has demonstrated
her ability to complete the duties of both the City Clerk and the City Treasurer.
With Council’s confirmation, Cathleen will be appointed City Clerk/Treasurer ; with compensation commensurate
with the responsibilities of City Clerk/Treasurer, effective immediately. Ms. Koch’s position description will be amended to reflect these changes.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Confirm appointment
of Cathleen Koch to the position of City Clerk/Treasurer.
