Denyelle Nishimori,
I am writing you as an extremely concerned Glenshire Resident. My family and I love Glenshire for its beauty,
open space and wonderful sense of community. I hope that you consider the greater impacts of the Canyon
Springs development, and not just what is within this REIR. I urge you and the Town of Truckee to please put
an end to this development. Already, there are many approved developments yet to be built within the town,
and so many finished developments that have already impacted the integrity of this town. We all live in
Truckee for its small town feel, sense of community, and its beautiful open spaces.
More specifically I am concerned about this REIR within the Biological Resources Section. The Migratory deer
populations are clearly going to be harmed. I live in the meadows on 5 acres. I see the same deer that begin
and end their day in my backyard, crossing Glenshire Drive to get to the Truckee River. This happens especially
in the morning and the evening, during the busiest times for commuter traffic. Too often we see dead deer
right there on Glenshire drive on the Hirchdale Hill, hit by vehicles. It saddens me that this will increase with
the Canyon Springs development, since it already is far too common. I am also concerned of the loss of habitat
for the deer and all other species.
This project goes against everything our town should be and should stand for. Please help Glenshire stay the
wonderful Truckee community it is. Please help protect the original inhabitantsâ the deer and wildlife
populations, which are already terribly impacted by the existing homes, residents and traffic. Please keep
Glenshire roads safe for children, bikes, and pedestrians. Please consider emergency and fire dangers for
evacuation. Thank you for considering my comments.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Goldberg
