HomeMy Public PortalAboutamenities draft January 7, 2015 draft Proposed Components of Amenity Program (1) Types, descriptions, costs, and locations of amenities available for adoption  Start with current amenities only? Legacy Trail only?  Replacement cost plus percentage admin  Include a map with numbered amenities and corresponding description o Map to be updated by TTF as amenities adopted (2) Size of plaque accepted for each amenity (3) Plaque text (stipulate that text must be non-controversial/appropriate for public display)  Business names okay but no logo or specific advertising? (4) Allow for additional plaques by same donor on same amenity at additional cost? (5) Review of application by TTF – exceptions brought before TOT (if allowing exceptions) (6) Where adoption funds will go (TTF admin/Town trail building fund) (7) Annual cost for maintenance? (what happens if a bench or interp panel is ruined – who pays to replace?) – some programs offer a one-time replacement but donor must fund replacement after that.  Special consideration for maintenance of bridge if adopted? (8) Permanent assignment, or, for X years requiring renewal? (Some programs have a 10-year agreement with the option of renewal) (9) Maintenance of records (TTF) Proposed Components of amenity adoption agreements  Contact information of donor  Agreed cost, location, etc.  Duration  Map including amenity location  Wording for plaque  Maintenance agreement  Legal issues (dispute resolution, etc.) – good examples in East Bay Regional Park District agreement  Signatures (Donor/TTF/Town)
