1. CALL TO ORDER - 4:00 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL: Vice Mayor deRyk Jones; Council Member Wallace Dee; Becky
Bucar; Dan Wilkins; Steve Randall; Lisa Wallace, Chaun Mortier; Allison Pedley;
Mitch Clarin; John Shaffer; John Eaton; Dennis Beeghly; and Shanna Kuhlemier.
3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE — deferred.
4. PUBLIC COMMENT — none.
5. WORKSHOP ITEM.
5.1 Review purpose of program
• The group reviewed the purpose of the tail amenity program.
5.2 Discussion: .
• Amenities
o Amenity Program should generate funds for trails
o Most programs pay for amenities
Plaques
o Text should be small and unobtrusive
o "In memory of plaques vs. advertisements
o Taxpayers paid for the trail, so it should be clear that people
only sponsored the amenities
o Put plaques on rock walls vs. etched in the rock
o Plaque garden, should be accessible
o Need rules about no plastic flowers or other memorial items be
placed at or near adopted amenity or plaque garden.
o Existing examples in town — Legacy Foundation bricks on
Brockway, Truckee Jail, Hospital
Costs (replacement plus %)
Damaged/destroyed amenity
o Some programs offer a one-time replacement but donor must
fund replacement after that
Adoption
o Permanent adoption vs. 10 years with option of renewal
