2005 ~ 2006 Council Goals
Focus on the vision of the Downtown Core as the “Heart and Soul of Truckee”
through efforts including the Railyard Master Plan, River Revitalization Strategy
and careful review of outlying development to ensure that it is complementary.
Completion of the Truckee General Plan Update.
Preserve and protect the quality of life in existing neighborhoods through proper
planning of new development.
Pursue a better balance of housing for all income levels and seek new tools to
respond to the demand for more work-force housing.
Enhance and strengthen public communication.
Continue to make Truckee a pedestrian and bicycle friendly town while providing
solutions to the vehicular traffic impacts created by growth.
Proactively address the impacts of growth through capital improvement projects
while maintaining adequate levels of Town Services.
Seek to collaborate on a local and regional basis to address planning, growth,
housing affordability and transportation.
