Information for Applicants
Thank you for your interest in serving the Town of Truckee.Please read the following information regarding
Commission/Committee appointments.
Qualifications: For Planning Commission,Historic Preservation Commission,and at large committee
designations you must be a resident of the Town of Truckee and registered to vote in Truckee at the time of
your appointment.All applicants must be over eighteen years of age. Although previous experience and
education in the areas assigned to the Commission/Committee are considered in the appointment process,
background is not the only determinant.Other interests,previous and current employment and a familiarity
with Truckee and the community are also relevant.
Appointment: If appointed to a Commission/Committee,and designated in the Town's Conflict of Interest
Code and be required to disclose some financial interests.Your principal place of residence in Truckee,any
real estate two miles outside of the Town limits and government bonds and mutual funds are exempt from
reporting requirements.If you have additional investments and financial holdings,information may be
obtained from the Town Clerk's Office or the Town Attorney's Office regarding disclosure requirements.
