Call to Order
Ms. Senzee called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. and asked those in attendance to
introduce themselves.
Roles and Responsibilities
Ms. Senzee explained that the roles and responsibilities of City Staff include research,
drafting the code, and presenting draft code amendments to the Stakeholder Committee. The
Stakeholder Committee’s roles and responsibilities include reviewing the draft code, providing
comments on update process, and liaison to representing body.
Historic Preservation Theory
Ms. Senzee gave an introduction of Historic Preservation Theory and explained the
benefits of historic preservation. She discussed National Register Districts vs. Local Districts
and Landmarks.
Historic Preservation Resources
Ms. Senzee encouraged committee members to use the Jefferson City Historic
Preservation Plan and the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic
Properties as resources during the code revision process.

Historic Preservation Code Update Process
Ms. Senzee discussed the purpose for revisions to the historic preservation code. She
encouraged committee members to research other communities with good historic preservation
activities prior to the next meeting.
Election of Officers
Ms. Deetz moved and Mr. Brown seconded to nominate Bunnie Trickey Cotten, Chair and
Stacey Young, Vice Chair. The motion passed unanimously.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for August 5, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in the
Boone/Bancroft Room.
Adjournment
Ms. Deetz moved and Mr. Brown seconded to adjourn the meeting at 7:06 p.m. The motion
passed unanimously.
