SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Police
Department is in the process of working on issues of morale and cohesiveness through team building exercises. One method of grasping a better understanding of individual team personalities
is through the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, which provides clues regarding preferences and tendencies on four dimensions of our personalities. The Police Department has sought out the
services of an outside consultant who has distinctive skills in leadership, coaching and team development. Through an extensive review of materials provided, followed by a site visit,
and an 8-hour workshop, we believe that the consultant will help us to understand our differences and strengths so that interpersonal difficulties may be more easily overcome. The consultant
requests an agreement for his services. A cost estimate is also attached.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve the Consulting Services agreement and authorize the Mayor to sign.
