SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The current airport lease provides for assignment with the approval of City Council. It further states that such approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. The current lease holder
has not constructed a hangar in the time frames required, and has requested and received an extension of time from the City. This extension, which requires construction to begin on
or before June 1, 2002, will transfer with the lease assignment. The fees for the lease shall be consistent with the lease being assigned, adjusted for inflation, and shall include
both bare and covered ground rates. If the current lease holder or the new lease holder do not complete construction as required under the extension, the lease shall be declared in
default and terminated. Any new lease would then be subject to the current fees and terms.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve the assignment of the lease and authorize the Mayor to sign.
