1. CALL TO ORDER— Mayor Goodwin called the meeting to order at 5:45 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL: Council Members; Flora, Tirman, Abrams, Vice Mayor Wallace Dee, and Mayor
Goodwin.
Absent: Council Member Abrams.
Staff Present: Kim Szczurek, Administrative Services Director; Andy Morris, Town Attorney;
Rob Leftwich, Police Captain; Tony Lashbrook, Town Manager; Todd Landry, Senior Civil
Engineer; and Judy Price, Town Clerk.
5. EMERGENCY DECLARATION
5.1 Emergency Declaration.
Recommended Action: Approve Resolution 2017-05 ratifying the declaration of a local
emergency by the Town Manager.
' Kim Szczurek, Administrative Services Director, presented from the staff report.
Council Discussion:
• The damage assessment can be done in the spring, but there is no specific identified
timeframe.
• There is no cap on the reimbursement funds.
• The County will be filing a declaration based on two cities in their jurisdiction filing a
declaration.
Mayor Goodwin opened the item for public comment.
Seeing none, Mayor Goodwin closed public comment.
Council Direction:
The Staff Recommendation was moved by Vice Mayor Wallace Dee, seconded by Council
Member Flora, and adopted with the following vote:
Ayes: Vice Mayor Wallace Dee, Council Member Flora, Council Member Tirman,
and Mayor Goodwin.
Noes: none.
Absent: Council Member Abrams.
Abstained: none.
The motion passed 4-0.
