County 4 -H Fair Parade & Fitness Run Event, July 20th`', 2012
Dear Mayor Murray and Members of the County
The Putnam County 4 -H Fair Parade Committee is once again coordinating the 2012 Fair Parade.
This year's theme is "Grow It, Sew It, Show It ". The event will be held Friday evening, July
20th.
We respectfully request your permission to close portions of : Percy Julian, Tennessee,
Washington , Wood, Gardenside, Seminary, Anderson, Indianapolis Road, Arlington ,
Durham, Bloomington, Locust, Spring, College, Vine, Indiana, and Franklin Streets for our
event,
The Parade will commence at the intersection of Washington, Wood & Indianapolis Road at
6:30prn. The parade is scheduled to arrive downtown at approximately 7:OOpm. The
accumulation of participants will start arriving at their designated locations (i.e. Dairy Castle,
GMS & GHS Parking lots, Wood Street, Greencastle City Park, and the east end of Washington
Street) in the early afternoon. We expect the parade to last approximately 1 %2 - 2 hours.
We are working with City officials to coordinate our efforts. We plan to use the same route as
last year placing the Judge's tent on Washington Street at the Masonic Temple. The parade will
turn on Indiana Street and return to the east side of town, i.e. Robe Ann Park & GHS parking lot.
Local law enforcement, the Department of Public Works, Putnam County Hwy personnel will be
assist in the re -route of traffic. We greatly appreciate your consideration to our request. Should
you need further information please feel free to call Nancy Michael at 765 -720 -1974.
