SUMMARY STATEMENT:
As part of the WTP project we have a requirement for storage space. In addition, we had the existing water treatment plant frame that we could erect for this use and retain following
completion of the project. We did not include in the original change to the contract the cost of moving the existing building—but did discuss a cost in the $30-50K range. The change
order reflects the total cost of relocating the building, which will be used to store equipment during construction and later used by the Golf and Parks Department. Based on discussions
between staff and Council, the City Manager directed the contractor to begin work on relocating the building and the engineer to draft the change order.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve
change order #7 and authorize the City Manager to sign.
