SUMMARY
STATEMENT:
The engineering costs are $55,000 against a construction amount of $333,333.00 or 16.5%. The FAA was contacted to see what the percent of cost range for AIP funded
projects were quoted at 14-24% depending on the complexity.
What is driving a big part of the engineering number up is the survey work on the removing obstructions project-which
pushes the engineering cost up on the project.
An attempt was made reduced the percentage, but was unsuccessful, and it is understandable that they would not go lower. Bottom
line is we have a good estimate that is below what both TO and URS would be charging, and is at the low end of the FAA's experience in terms of AIP projects.
Per FAA, AIP Project Engineering
costs range between = 14% - 24%
Total Federal Funds = $300,000.00
Total Local Match = $33,333.00
Total Funds For Project = $333,333.00
Total Engineering Cost as
of (Nov 14, 2001) = $55,000.00
Total percent of Engineering Cost for (AIP#8) = 16.5%
(55,000/ 333,333)
