SUMMARY STATEMENT: The Idaho National
Guard Security Forces have been placed oh High Alert as a result of the 9/11 attacks. Subsequently, they have been assigned to perform security for the base and airport facilities,
which includes traffic enforcement. They currently lack some of the basic tools required to perform traffic enforcement to include RADAR units. The McCall Police Dept. has two spare
RADAR units, which have been replaced by newer models. We would like to transfer ownership of one of the spare RADARs to the Air National Guard. Other agencies to include Boise PD and
Idaho State Police are donating vehicles to the National Guard.
In lieu of the loan or ownership transfer of the RADAR unit, the National Guard will allow us to use their Firearms
Training Simulator at no cost.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Authorize the Police Department to transfer ownership of one RADAR unit to the Idaho National Guard
