SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The
Police Department is requesting approval to dispose of the Department’s excess weapons. Due to the types and quality of the weapons, they are of no use to the police department or
other law enforcement agency. Inter-Mountain Outdoor Sports, in Meridian, Idaho, is willing to purchase the above listed weapons from the City of McCall. As a licensed gun dealer
in the State of Idaho, they are able to purchase the used weapons and provide a credit to the City toward the purchase of ammunition, weapons, or supplies that are needed by the police
department. Additionally, we currently posses a fully automatic (SA48 .308 cal) that we would like to evenly exchange for five (5) Ruger .223 caliber rifles. Ponderosa Sports, in Horseshoe
Bend would be willing to make the exchange.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Authorize the Police Department to dispose of the listed weapons as outlined and exchange for the requisite credit.
