APPROVING A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT-
"FLOATING HOLIDAY"
WHEREAS, the Carteret PBA Local #47 has filed grievance 01-02 on behalf of Det.
Singura and Det. Connolly (the "Grievants") alleging a violation of a provision of Hours
of Work and Overtime, Article II, Section B-Work week, of the Collective Bargaining
Agreement between the Borough of Carteret and the Carteret PBA Local #47; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council and the Carteret PBA Local #47 have agreed upon
on amicable settlement of said grievances to avoid the cost and effort associated with
further proceedings with regard to the same.
NOW, THERFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the Borough of
Carteret as follo~vs:
1. The Memorandum of Agreement between the parties is hereby approved.
2. The Mayor and appropriate Borough officials are authorized to execute the
same in a form acceptable to the Borough Attorney.

MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the Carteret PBA Local #47 has filed grievance 01-02 on behalf of
Detective Stanley Singura and Detective James Cormolly (the "Grievants") alleging a
violation of a provision of Hours of Work and Overtime, Article II, Section B- Work
Week, of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Borough of Carteret and the
Carteret PBA Local # 47; and
WHEREAS, said grievances have initially been denied; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council and Carteret PBA Local # 47 have agreed
upon an amicable settlement of said grievance.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY AGREED AS FOLLOWS:
1. Detective Stanley Singura and Detective James Connolly shall each be
reimbursed one "floating holiday".
2. This Memorandum of Agreement resolves all issues outstanding
between the parties with regard to the above referenced grievance.
3. The settlement of these grievances shall not constitute, nor be
claimed to represent, evidence of a "past practice" or form the basis of any
further grievance by any member of the Carteret PBA Local # 47.
4. The settlement of this grievance shall not constitute an admission
on the part of the Borough of Carteret with regard to the validity of any
claims being asserted pursuant to the above referenced grievance.
