AB–00–___ ITD Enhancement Grant application The Idaho Transportation Enhancement Program is a statewide competitive program that provides federal highway funds for twelve different ‘transportation enhancement’ activities. One eligible activity is ‘landscaping and other scenic beautification.’ The maximum award is $500,000, with a $50,000 local match required. The McCall Improvement Committee Project List has identified the South Corridor as one of the two highest priority projects. The South Corridor Task Force has been formed to focus on making that project a reality. The Task Force has endorsed the Four Corners Project from among the conceptual projects in the University of Idaho McCall Revitalization Project. The Four Corners Project, as illustrated on the following pages, includes landscaping and beautification on all four corners of the SH55/Third Street – Deinhard Lane intersection. Additional sidewalks and crosswalks will be installed, planters, decorative fencing, street furniture and elements of continuity as defined by the McCall Improvement Committee will be constructed. Appropriate signage will be included. These are eligible for funding under the Enhancement Program. A detailed application is being prepared for submittal to ITD. The conceptual plans and cost estimates are being refined. Abutting property owners will also participate in the project. The tentative budget is approximately $500,000 from ITD and $50,000 local cash match from the City. Any in-kind donations of land or easements will count as additional local match. Match funds must be available in FY04. The McCall Improvement Committee and the South Corridor Task Force support this application.
