AUTHORIZING BEACON PLANNING AND CONSULTING SERVICES, LLC,
TO PREPARE A REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS (RFQ) FOR
REDEVELOPER(S) FOR THE REDELOPMENT OF THE
WEST CARTERET COMMERCIAL REDEVELOPMENT AREA
WHEREAS, the Borough has previous authorized Beacon Planning and Consulting
Services, LLC, to prepare a Redevelopment Plan for the West Carteret Commercial
Redevelopment Area (WCCRA) in accordance with the provisions New Jersey
Redevelopment and Housing Law, NJ.S.A. 40A: 12A-I et seq. ("Redevelopment Law");
and
WHEREAS, should the Borough ultimately adopt a· Redevelopment Plan for the
WCCRA, the Borough wishes to engage in a competitive process to evaluate and select a
Redeveloper(s) to redevelop the WCCRA, or a portion thereof.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey that Beacon Planning and
Consulting Services, LLC, is hereby authorized to prepare Request for Qualifications
(RFQ) for a Redeveloper(s) to redevelop the West Carteret Commercial Redevelopment
Area.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this Resolution shall be transmitted to
Beacon Planning and Consulting Services, LLC.
