ORDINANCE NO. 140119
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING CHAPTER 12,
ELECTIONS, SECTION 36, PERTAINING TO WARD BOUNDARIES.
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the 2020 U.S. Decennial Census population
statistics as it affects the population distribution within the City's five wards; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered options which balance the populations
between the five wards; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has selected an option in which ward populations are
balanced, neighborhood boundaries are reasonably maintained, and wards
remain reasonably compact and contiguous.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Chapter 12 (Elections), Section 36 (Wards), Paragraphs B through F, is
hereby amended as follows:
See. 12-36 Wards.
A. The city is hereby divided into five (5) wards, which shall be named the First Ward, the Second
Ward, the Third Ward, the Fourth Ward, and Fifth Ward respectively.
B. The First Ward shall be bounded as follows:

Beginning at the intersection of the northerly extension of the centerline of Marshall
Street and the centerline of the Missouri River; thence southerly along the northerly
extension of the centerline of Marshall Street to the intersection of the centerline of East
State Street; thence westerly along the centerline of East State Street to the intersection
of the centerline of Jackson Street; thence southerly along the centerline of Jackson
Street to the intersection of the centerline of East Dunklin Street; thence easterly along
the centerline of East Dunklin Street to the intersection of the center line of Locust
Street; thence southerly along the centerline of Locust Street to the intersection of the
centerline of East Atchison Street; thence easterly along the centerline of East Atchison
Street to the intersection of the centerline of Bald Hill Road; thence southeasterly along
the centerline of Bald Hill Road to the City Limit line as defined in Section 1-17; thence
generally easterly following the southern City limit to the centerline of State Route J;
thence continuing to follow the City limit east and north to the centerline of the Missouri
River, thence westerly following the centerline of the Missouri River to the point of
beginning.

Beginning at the southeast corner of the southwest quarter of the southwest quarter
of Section 14, Township 44 North, Range 11 West, Callaway County, Missouri, which
is a point on the corporate City limits line as described in Section 1-17; thence south
along the corporate City limits line to the centerline of the Missouri River; thence
northwesterly along the centerline of said river to the point of intersection with the
northerly extension of the centerline of Marshall Street; thence southerly along said
extension of the Marshall Street centerline to the intersection of the centerline of East
State Street; thence westerly along the centerline of East State Street to the intersection
of the centerline of Jackson Street; thence southerly along the centerline of Jackson
Street to the intersection of the centerline of Stadium Boulevard; thence westerly along
the centerline of Stadium Boulevard to the intersection of the centerline of Southwest
