SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Congress has passed an amendment to the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 which requires that recipients of Community
Development Block Grant funds adopt a resolution prohibiting the use of excessive force against nonviolent civil rights demonstrators.
Resolution 01-10 establishes that it is the policy
of the City to not use excessive force against nonviolent civil rights demonstrators, and fulfills our federal funding requirements.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution 01-10.
