A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE ADOPTING
REVISED FIRE PROTECTION FACILITIES MITIGATION FEES AND RESCINDING FEES
PREVIOUSLY ADOPTED IN RESOLUTION 2018-01
WHEREAS; The Truckee Fire Protection District, hereinafter the "District', is the local
government entity responsible for providing fire protection services within the Town of Truckee;
and
WHEREAS; The Town Council pursuant to California Government Code Sections
66000 et. seq. may impose a fee as a condition of approval of a development project to defray
all or a portion of the cost of public facilities related to the development project, including
facilities for special districts that provide services within the Town of Truckee; and
WHEREAS; The Town Council on January 9, 2018 adopted Resolution 2018-01
imposing a mitigation fee for fire protection facilities; and
WHEREAS; The District Board of Directors held a public hearing on November 20,
2018 and adopted Resolution 20-2018, attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit A,
requesting the Town Council adopt and implement an annual inflationary increase to the
mitigation fee in accordance with a fire impact fee nexus study dated September 2016 and
prepared by SCI Consulting Group for the District and on file with the Town Clerk; and
WHEREAS; The Town Council held a public hearing on the matter on January 22,
2019 and accepted oral and written comments from the public and interested parties and
considered such comments before taking action.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Town Council of the Town of Truckee
adopts the following fire protection facilities mitigation fees on behalf of the Truckee Fire
Protection District:

Fee, effective March 25, 2019
$0.82 per square foot
$1.23 per square foot
$0.60 per square foot
$0.84 per square foot
$1.20 per square foot
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Town Council of the Town of Truckee rescinds the
fire protection facilities mitigation fees adopted by Town Council Resolution 2018-01.
The foregoing resolution was introduced by Vice Mayor Goodwin, seconded by
Council Member Polivy, at a regular meeting of the Truckee Town Council, held on the
22nd day of January 2019 and adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Vice Mayor Goodwin, Council Member Polivy, Council Member Klovstad
Council Member Abrams and Mayor Tirman.
NOES: none.
ABSENT: none.
