CALL TO ORDER
The May 24, 2010, Council Work Session was convened at 5:30 P.M. by Mayor John
Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present:
Present: *Carroll (arrived at 5:45 P.M.), Ferguson, Griffith, Harvey, Medin,
Penfold, Pope, Struemph, Scrivner
Absent: Koon
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Transit Issues
City Administrator Steve Rasmussen began the presentation by explaining the loss of the
State shuttle contract and how it may affect next year's budget.
*Councilwoman Carrie Carroll arrived during this discussion (5:45 P.M.)
City Planner Janice McMillan presented five different options to the Council after the loss
of the shuttle contract and the financial impact of each option. The options were explained
as follows:
1. Reduce resources
2. Increase frequency on two routes
3. Add two test routes
4. Add two central trolley routes, or
5. Add evenings and Saturdays to the transit schedule
Mayor Landwehr asked if a decision needed to be made now or during budget planning.
Steve Rasmussen explained that there was no need to make the decision right away, but
staff will need direction before the next budget year. Following further discussion by Council
on the different options, Mayor Landwehr stated that unless anyone objects, he will ask staff
to make a recommendation on the option that would increase both frequency and ridership,
and considered the best for citizens, to be discussed at a future meeting.

ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Councilman Ron Medin, seconded by Councilman Ken Ferguson,
to adjourn, and was approved unanimously at 6:50 P.M.
