SUMMARY STATEMENT: The Golf Advisory Committee recommended eliminating
the Twilight Rates on the weekends and replacing it with a nine hole rate, which
the Council approved. Since that time we have seen a number of players opt
against playing after 5:00 on the weekend due to the higher cost. The Golf
Advisory Committee, Golf Pro, and Director of Golf and Parks Operations have
discussed this and all believe that re-instating the Twilight Rate would boost play
after 5:00 on weekends. Given this is a proposed decrease in rates, it would not
require a public hearing. Staff requests Twilight Rates be revised to reflect 9
holes after 5:00 p.m. everyday rather than just Sun-Thurs.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution No. 02-19 and authorize the Mayor to
sign.
